Do GameFAQs: Concordam? Top 10 Lists: The Top 10 PSVita JRPG's [Available In The West] This is a list of my personal top 10 PS Vita JRPG's. They are in no particular order. Specifically JRPG's will only be on this list. There are more than 10 jrpgs worth buying as well. I just threw up the 10 I'd tell someone to start with or recommend beginning with.
Honorable Mentions:
- Hyperdimension Re;birth trilogy
(A fan-favorite within gamefaqs. Highly recommend if you're a fan of dungeon crawling and memes. A great pick up and play jrpg with lots of customization options. Story segments feel very VN-like.)
- Atelier Rorona / Totori / Meruru trilogy
(Time restrictions and very slice of life. Otherwise nice ost options and gameplay is slick. Each game handles a bit differently in terms of fps and quality, totori being the most noticable of the three, while the other two really only having minor chugging during big scenes or transitions.
- God Eater 1 and 2 (Mission based. 2 has pretty good combat.)
- Freedom Wars
(incomplete experience. though its one of my most played games, i wouldnt really recommend it as the online isnt very active anymore and this was before god eater was an option. if you're a hunting fiend and looking for more, feel free to try it. but I'd recommend Soul Sacrifice Delta or God Eater 2 over this.)
- Digimon Cyber Sleuth
(alright if you're a big digimon fan. if you like persona games or the aspects of fusing demons to create unique teams, you'll probably get into this. The combat animations aren't very good and neither is the environments or writing.) Another great Vanillaware game. 60 FPS, amazing combat depths, really fluid combat.
Very customizable class designing, alchemy system, and combo system. If you haven't played a vanillaware game or played this yet, this or Muramasa are a great entry into their works.
A gamefaqs favorite as well. This and Hyperdimension for quite a time were considered the peak of the JRPG Vita Experience.
personally, I find aspects of this game a lot more fluid and streamlined when compared to Persona 5. No negotiation system, no loading after battles that lengthy. Even though I'm not even a big fan of Persona 4 either, I feel my biases aside the game is one of the most polished experiences on this handheld. The combat, music, and overall feel of the game on the screen makes it a worthy inclusion on the list regardless of my feelings.
If you haven't played this by now, get on it. FFX is a classic and arguably one of the top Final Fantasies. Its not my favorite, yet it certainly has some of the best gameplay, OST, and cast in the series.
One of the most beautiful work of arts I ever played. Incredible Japanese voice acting, incredible music, incredible sound effects, amazing animation... the art design. This is simply a must-play for how wonderfully crafted this game in.
I recommend playing on the hardest difficulty. The payoff is quite rewarding. The two stories featuring the alternate katanas makes for an intriguing take on a sidescrolling experience.
This is one of the few games where the DLC is definitely worth it as well. They are filled with content.
arguably the best hunting game alongside soul sacrifice delta (that is available on vita)
this one feels very very similar to monster hunter in terms of blueprint design. So if you're looking for an experience close to MH, this is the game to buy. Of all the games, this and God Eater 2 are the most active in terms of online.
Visually the best 3d Ys yet. Improvement over Celceta combat wise and plot/side-quest wise. Not a huge Ys fan, yet this one was a blast. Probably my favorite 3d Ys yet. Music was improved over Celceta overall.
Most unqiue hunting experience on the vita and for whatever price you get it, it will have the most content of any hunting experience. The game has so many missions and such a deeply woven plot that it will have you busy for atleast 100 hours. The online is not as active as some of the newer hunting games (Toukiden 2 and God Eater 2) as its been out a long time, yet I'd still recommend it for the solo experience alone.
Atmospherically, its the closest to a dark souls experience you'll find on Vita.
In the early years of the Vitas tenure it was my personal best jrpg on the console.
Now though if you were to ask me, I'd say it was an okay experience that warrants a play for its gameplay and not much else. The story is average, the cast is hit or miss, and its pretty linear / not much side questing to do. However, the combat is probably the most fun I had out of the single-player arpgs I played on this system. Highly recommend it if you're a tales fan.
Not a great entry into the trails series as the franchise is layered and connected across other games that are available on psp, yet nonetheless included as its still a quality experience on its own.
In some ways similar format wise to Persona 3. Involves a cast of students that resolve circumstances and climb a structure similarly designed to Tartarus. Nonetheless, the stories couldn't be any more different. My point is that design wise, Trails is akin to persona and has a similar Bonding Event format as well, similar to Persona's Social Links. The combat's and plots couldn't be any more different and those are the reasons in particular why I'm a very big Cold Steel fan. The combat is a ton of fun to customize and gear out.
Trails in the Sky (PSP) Trails in the Sky 2 (PSP)
Trails of Cold Steel 1 (Vita) and this game, CS2, all available on Vita.
Cold Steel 3 is coming to PS4 and Both CS1, CS2, and Sky 1 and 2 are available on PC.
Presumably the whole series will eventually be localized / all on PC.
Nonetheless, both Cold Steel's are available on Vita, PS3, and PC, and run well enough on all 3. ideally, PC, but on Vita there is minor lag. Load times are a bit longer, but its fine. Again, these games are in no order. The Vita has a ton of games that are now available on other platforms that run them better, yet its still really nice to have portability. On top of that, there are many niche titles, visual novels, and other rpgs in general that did not make my list that are not available elsewhere which is where the Vita shines.
The are also many dungeon crawling titles that didn't even make my list that many may be partial to, especially 3ds fans who are fond of the first person etrian odyssey styled games, like Stranger of Sword City, Demon Gaze, or even Oreshika.

Legend of Heroes - Trails of Cold Steel I e IIHistória, gameplay e trilha sonora excelentes. Adventures of ManaExcelente remake. World of Final FantasyBom port e uma boa ideia da SE.

1. Legand of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 2
2. Persona 4: Golden
3. Legand of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel
4. World of Final Fantasy
5. Disgaea 3
6. Final Fantasy X
7. Tales of Hearts R
8. Ys IV
9. Soul Sacrifice
10. Neptunia Re:Birth 1
