Com o intuito de provocar nostalgia e emoções causadas pelos jogos do passado da empresa, nasce Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna (algo como "A tristeza do sacrifício e neve"), nova IP da Square Enix. Assim como o nome implica, a tristeza será um elemento-chave no jogo. Não haverá transição entre exploração e batalhas no world map, a luta ocorre ali mesmo. Já dentro de dungeons a batalha começa quando o jogador faz contato com o inimigo. Nas lojas do jogo, você poderá comprar itens que fãs de Final Fantasy irão reconhecer (Potion, Ether etc). Mas haverão itens incomuns como "Mistone" que permite você escapar das batalhas já que não há um comando específico para isso. O jogo está sendo constantemente comparado a Chrono Trigger, muitos afirmando que este poderá ser o sucessor espiritual da série Chrono. "Na ilha onde Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna se passa, um ritual de sacrifício é oferecido a cada 10 anos para manter os monstros longe. Mas quando os monstros começam a atacar bem antes do próximo sacrifício, é decidido que a próxima cerimônia será realizada mais cedo. Square Enix revealed Project Setsuna as Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna during the SCEJA Press Conference 2015 last night. This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine provides further details on the game being developed by Tokyo RPG Factory. [Thanks, Hachima.] The contents of Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna are said to be something that will bring back the feelings that we got from ‘90s RPGs such as Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, and Chrono Trigger. Events and battles happen in top-down perspective, while the game’s battle system inherits the ATB system from other Square Enix titles. The fields will allow you to travel and battle seamlessly without having any screen changes. Vendo esse jogo me lembrou bastante de Chrono Trigger não sei por que. Na gaf estão falando bastante isso, até postaram essa comparação com as techs de chrono e do baú que esta presente mesmo no meio da batalha.

No Chrono Trigger também não tinha batalhas no World Map, estão pegando muitos elementos dele... O que está faltando é o enredo e o elenco chamar mais atenção, porque os personagens pelo menos até agora não tem muito carisma e "presença".
Se for seguir essa ideia de inverno, deveria lançar pelo menos no começo do ano no Japão então.

O jogo da um clima de Chrono Trigger e ao mesmo tempo o que foi divulgado da história lembra FFX. Eu gostei bastante dos 2 personagens mostrados até agora e espero que falem um pouco sobre o outro que está presente no trailer/gameplay mostrado na TGS. Imagem postada semana passada pela TRF:

■ System
Active Time Battle The Active Time Battle (ATB) system is a common characteristic of Square Enix-developed RPGs. Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna‘s battle system is based on Chrono Trigger‘s ATB 2.0 battle system. It is a choose your command-based battle system full of tension. When your ATB gauge is filled, you can take action. Also, if several characters’ ATB gauges are filled, you can select their actions in the order you prefer. Depending on where you’re located compared to the enemy, you can deal ranged damage, or damage enemies with the trails of a projectile weapon. By properly devising the timing of your actions, it’s possible to fight more advantageously.
Setsuna System The Setsuna System, or “Moment System,” is a system that expands the effectiveness of techniques through timed button reactions in battle. When you do something like perform an action, receive damage, or let time pass after the ATB gauge reaches its MAX state, the circular Setsuna gauge will accumulate. When the Setsuna gauge is filled up, additional effects are triggered when you time the button reactions of the performed technique accordingly. Additional damage will occur as part of standard attacks and some attack techniques. Depending on the technique, there are a variety of results you can expect, such as unleashing the same technique multiple times, attain a recovery effect, or deal a critical hit.
■ Characters
Kuon Before Setsuna became the “sacrifice,” Kuon was a traveler of many mysteries who visited the village. Now, as a soldier representing the escort group, she has the faithful trust of the villagers, and is adored as a sister by Setsuna. She is invested in the journey more than anyone else and due to her strong sense of responsibility, she absolutely cannot fail her duty. She often has at it with the silent hero, whose mind she can’t read.
Yomi An experienced swordsman who was part of the escort group on the journey of a previous “sacrifice.” He is usually more cheery than necessary, and is thought to be a fool by everyone in the “Garrison.” Taking advantage of his previous experience, he’s the man to go to for advice in the escort group. Considering Setsuna’s safety his number one priority just as he did about Tsukushi, he turns sides and joins the party.

O visual "meio desfocado" me lembrou Memories of Celceta. Em especial nesta imagem: Tem potencial, principalmente de não sair no ocidente para o Vita, ainda mais que é a Square-Enix que está publicando, acho que ela não lançou nada no Ocidente para o Vita (sem ser PS1 Classics ou PSP).

Keel
A young boy who lives in the secluded recesses of the mountains whose family is shrouded in mystery. Keel was raised with great care by the people of the village. But he was raised naive, and envying the outside world, ran away from the village. Keel believes in hope in even the most desperate situations, and with his positive behavior is the mood maker of the group. He’s a magician who can use high level spells, and specializes in the fire attribute.
Jurion
Jurion’s lineage extends to the old royal family. She focuses on one thing at a time and does not falter her convictions. She’s wholeheartedly stubborn. Although she also mirrors the qualities of a knight as someone with dignity and nobility, Jurion’s appearance is somewhat mysterious, making you think there is something hidden about her past. She specializes in three-dimensional attacks with her spear and water magic.

Aliás, a Square meio que deu uma mudada de foco ou é impressão minha? Estão dando mais atenção aos jogos antigos deles, e andam lançando alguns jogos retrô como Bravely Default e esse Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna. Talvez tenham notado como eles eram melhores antigamente.

Esse jogo como o primeiro do estúdio não espero que seja muito grande, gostei de já mostrarem gameplay e tudo parece se encaixar com os jogos mais clássicos... Airship *_* Só falta cenários não-neve, mas tudo bem se for curto =P

Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna Has Materia-Like "Waystones" For Commands And EffectsSquare Enix shared some new details on their upcoming modernized old school-style RPG, Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna, with details on a Materia-like slot system that will let you add new commands and abilities. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.] Waystone: In addition to weapons and armor, there’s an item called “Waystone” that can be equipped to learn new commands or have added effects. There are different kinds of Waystones, and you can switch them around at any time. The number of Waystones that can be equipped will increase as you level. They can be acquired from shops by turning in material that you get from battles. You’ll need different materials depending on the type of Waystone. Here’s a list of different Waystones abilities: Wall: Learn a magic that reduces the damage taken from enemies. By using the “Setsuna System” to time the ability, you can have its effect spread through the entire party. Provoke: Makes the enemies target the user. The Setsuna System timing adds a damage-reducing effect. Firebit: Characters that equip it have their fire attribute attacks increase. Stonebit: Adds an effect that adds petrify to the user’s attacks. Caloric: An effect that increases the range of various attacks. It can make regular attacks turn into multiple attacks. Harvest: Heals health after defeating an enemy. Avenger: Reflects a small amount of damage taken. There’s also some information on a new character called “The Man with a Scythe.” He is said to not have any human-like emotions, and is almost like a god of death who will appear numerous times in attempts to kill Setsuna. Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna will release in Japan on February 18, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
