i.cubeupload.com/68sxSg.jpgDragon Quest Builders details protagonist, story, and gameplay Jump this week has first details on Dragon Quest Builders, Square Enix’s newly announced block-making RPG for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita. Get the details below. Story
In the distant past there was a terrible battle between men and monsters. There was a hero, who was a central figure on the human side, who fell into the Dragonlord’s trap and was never heard from again. Having lost their mainstay, the humans were driven from the land in which they lived in this dark world, and their numbers decreased by the day. But time flows forward and our story begins when a young person appears in this ruined world ruled by the Dragonlord.
Characters
• Protagonist – A hero (boy or girl) that possesses the special ability to create items from all things. Designed by Akira Toriyama. • Dragonlord – An evil sovereign who has been ruling the world for the long years since the humans lost their hero.
Gameplay
In the beginning, the world is empty. Players are tasked with creating items, towns, and castles, which they can do by collecting materials from all around the world. There are also monster battles.
Yuji Horii Comment
“Dragon Quest Builders is a completely new block-making RPG where players must recapture and restore the land of Alefgard after it’s destroyed by the Dragonlord. The vast world of Alefgard is expressed through blocks, which players can freely create, destroy, and remodel as if they’re in a sandbox or playing with building blocks. Please try to create an innovative Alefgard!”

Dragon Quest Builders Makes Building Easy With Step-By-Step Design Plans
Dragon Quest Builders is an upcoming Minecraft or Terraria-like “block make RPG” by Square Enix
that has plenty of its own Dragon Quest charm. Game Watch shares the latest details on the game’s fundamentals.
Dragon Quest Builders is actually set in a “what if” world, where the hero says “yes” to joining the Dragonlord, which was actually an option given to players in the original Famicom game.
In the NES game, agreeing to join Dragonlord for a share of half the world results in a game over,
and Dragon Quest Builders basically takes place in an alternate world that was dominated by the Dragonlord for that reason.
As time passed, a youth appears and stands up against the Dragonlord and his tyranny that has taken over the world, and that’s how the story of Dragon Quest Builders begins.
There are three main elements that will come into play for reviving towns in order to revive the land of Alefgard:
• Gather
In order to create new items, you’ll need to defeat enemies and collect the material that drops.
• Create
You can’t bring back towns and villages unless you create new items. This will be done using materials acquired from monsters and gathered from the fields.
• Put Together
With enough resources and items, you’ll get to put together new buildings, which will be the first step in making towns.
There are items called “Design Plans” that lets you easily create buildings, so even if you’re not the best at making buildings block-by-block, you can easily do so using this feature.
Once you find an area where you’d like to make your building, the Design Plans will tell you exactly what you need and how to do it. All you need to do is place the blocks the way it shows you, and it’ll be complete.
They might start you out with simple designs at first, but you’ll get to make some nicer-looking structures as shown in the above image.
There are plenty of familiar monsters that will appear in the game, and they’ll even occasionally form groups and attack your town in order to prevent you from from furthering its development.

Dragon Quest Builders details land of Merkid The first area players will explore in the upcoming RPG.
Square Enix has released a new set of Dragon Quest Builders information and screenshots detailing Merkid, the first area players will visit in the upcoming block-making RPG. Get the information below. Merkid’s Topography
Merkid is in ruins when you first visit it. You’ll clearly see the remnants of a fortress city that once was.
In addition to Merkid’s grassy plains, there are also poisonous swamps, rocky mountains where gas-shooting monsters roam, and more.
Discover Mysterious Caves
During your adventure, you’ll come across dungeon-like caves. Inside these caves, there may be valuable materials.
Gates to Unknown Areas
As you progress through the story, you’ll gain access to “Travel Gates,” which will send you off to new areas.
Unique Characters
By listening to what the people living in the game world have to say, you can get hints that help in reviving the town. These are important characters that will become guides on your adventure.
Rolondo is the bearded and dignified son of the former mayor of Merkid. What’s written in the “Merkid Record” book he possesses will apparently help in the town’s revival.
Prinn is a girl overlooking the town’s reconstruction. She’ll present the hero with a variety of requests.
You’ll also come across characters left behind in monster dens. You can drive away the monsters, save them, and bring them back to town.
Gather the Masses
Gathering townsfolk is indispensable to the town’s development. Players should explore a variety of areas in attempts to locate and return people who have been scattered to the town.
Monsters
Outside of town, the hero will face a variety of creatures, including the Dracky, Droll, and Skeleton. A large number of Drolls roam the poisonous swamp zone. You’ll come across the Skeleton early on in the game.

i.imgur.com/hPSAlHB.jpggematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/DQ-Builders_11-25-15.jpg ContinentsThere are a number of continents in the world of Dragon Quest Builders. And several regions are present in each. Since the monsters and material that appear change by region, you’ll make new discoveries even by exploring the same continent. You can make preparations for your journey in town before departing. You can freely go back and forth between each region using the “Travel Gate.” The Monsters of Merkid You’ll encounter several monsters in the first continent, Merkid. In the Grasslands, you’ll encounter monsters like Slimes, Dracky, and Chimeras. In the Mountains, you’ll encounter Hammerhoods, She-slimes, and such. In the Desert, you’ll find Scorpions and Bunicorns. And in the Mines, you’ll find Rockbombs and Golems. Towards a New Continent After repelling the monsters and bringing peace to the town, you can move forward towards the next continent. ■ Rimuldar After restoring the light in Merkid, the hero heads for Rimuldar. In this land, due to “a certain pathogen” spread by monsters in the past, an illness has plagued the continent. To treat the disease, you’ll help a nun named Elle build a hospital. The land’s only doctor is an “Old Doctor Gen,” who might know a cure for the illness. People awaiting help are scattered about Rimuldar. You’ll bring them back to town for treatment in the hospital. There’s also a training dojo set up by some monsters. ■ Monsters of Rimuldar Some of the monsters that inhabit Rimuldar include the Scarewolf, Caterpillar, and Walking Corpses.
